Couples Therapy

You may be caught in repeated arguments, emotional distance, loss of trust, or sexual difficulties. Sometimes there is only the feeling that you have become stuck with one another.

Therapy offers a space to look more clearly at what is happening in your relationship, understand the roots of your difficulties, and find new ways of relating and loving.

Relationships diversity

I welcome couples of different sexualities, gender identities, cultures, and relationship structures.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I work with people in both traditional and non-traditional relationships.

My approach with couples

I believe that it is through relationships that we come to know ourselves more deeply and continue to grow.

I work in a way that allows both people to speak, be heard, and be challenged. My role is not to decide who is right or to take sides. A couple does not become stronger because both people agree on everything, continually reassure one another, or constantly compromise. Intimacy also involves being able to tolerate tension and remain yourself in the presence of the other.

The work goes beyond resolving conflicts or improving communication. It is also about understanding the underlying patterns and gridlocks between you, and finding a common direction.
